Welcome back to high school football.

Here's a Week 1 roundup of some of the top games in the area:

Collierville 29, Southwind 28: Duple Travillion scored on a 32-yard TD run with four minutes left to play to help the Dragons rally past the visiting Jaguars. Travillion finished the game with 110 yards on 23 carries. Collierville’s Mitch Austin threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns. Southwind was led by 132 yards rushing, 111 yards receiving and two TDs from Romal Webb.

Covington 35, Munford 0: The Chargers got touchdown runs of 71 and 40 yards from Marcus Hayes to cruise to the road win. Jalen Fayne also scored twice for Covington, which ran for 275 yards on 36 carries.

MUS 35, Ridgeway 3: The Owls opened and closed the scoring with interception returns for touchdowns in the convincing home win. Darius Brown (44 yards) and Peter Dailey (71 yards) handled those honors, while Hunter Kendall added a pair of TD runs for MUS.

Senatobia 41, St. Benedict 0: Three rushing touchdowns by Nickisis Sip were too much for the host Eagles to overcome. The Warriors set the tone with a 25-yard fumble return for a TD by Jordan Crowder at the 11:45 mark of the first quarter.

Bartlett 20, Douglass 0: A pair of Ty McNeal scoring strikes to DJ Jones highlighted the Panthers’ home win. Jones hauled in TD passes of 39 and 71 yards for Bartlett, which opened the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown run from Thomas Jones.

Arlington 32, Halls 0: Mitchell Faulkner ran strong and Zach Baker was accurate enough with his arm in the Tigers’ home victory. Faulkner had a 51-yard TD run and finished with 125 yards rushing, while Baker threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Devouncey Glover rushed for a pair of scores in the win.

Trinity Christian 21, St. George’s 14: Quarterback Nick Seward was admirable in defeat for the visiting Gryphons, throwing for 138 yards and two touchdowns. St. George’s had trouble containing Kevin Davis (195 rushing yards and two TDs).

CBHS 40, Bob Jones (Ala.) 24: Al Wooten shined brightly for the visiting Purple Wave, rushing 22 times for 130 yards and two touchdowns. CBHS also saw the speedster return a kickoff 97 yards for another score. Trace Heffernan, Dallan Hayden and Branden Barnes added TDs in the win.

Jackson Christian 30, FACS 28: The Crusaders rallied for 21 fourth-quarter points but fell short in the home loss. FACS quarterback Cole Putnam threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for another 66 yards. JCS got a big game from Jackson Taylor, who carried the ball 28 times for 187 yards and two TDs.
