Chocolate lovers can circle the date in their diary after the owners of a luxury chocolate brand revealed when their new and only Cornwall store will open.

Hotel Chocolat is taking over an empty unit on King Street in Truro and work to have the store refitted and filled with chocolate delights in time for the festive season has been going at full tilt.

Now the firm is ready to say when the new shop, which will employ between 10 and 15 staff, will throw its doors open.

A spokeswoman for the the national brand said: "We have a date of November 24 for the opening of our new store in Truro."

Hotel Chocolat already has shops in Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton, Bath and Bristol in the South West and more than 60 shops all over the UK. The new Truro store is the only in Cornwall.

The spokeswoman confirmed that the company currently has no plans to open a store elsewhere in Cornwall, before adding: "However we’re always looking to expand into new areas when we find the right location."

Chocolate lovers will be able to enjoy Hotel Chocolat's complete core range, such as hampers and cocoa inspired products including alcohol, as well as the company's headline product 'Ice Cream of the Gods'.
