A car has reportedly crashed into a traffic light in Truro.

The vehicle is said to have knocked down the light and bent a street light in Tregolls Road. The incident is on the inbound side of the dual carriageway and affecting traffic in both directions.

The crash was reported to have happened at about 8.30am. It has caused long queues and delays on the route out of the city.

A witness said the other motorists had stopped to direct traffic.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and South Western Ambulance Service are at the scene. One person is reporedly being treated by paramedics.

Traffic service Inrix says: "Tregolls Road in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident at Tregolls Road.
