KFC lovers in Cornwall will be able to have a sneak peek at what is really going on in the chain’s kitchens every time they will order their food.

The fastfood company announced yesterday that the future restaurant it is planning for Truro will have an open kitchen.

The outlet, which should open by 2020, is set to become the flagship of Cornwall’s KFC restaurants.

Gary Moss, the franchisee who owns all five outlets in the county, said: "I want Truro to be our jewel in the crown with this new American diner look and an open kitchen so customers can see their food being prepared.

"We want to create a restaurant for casual dining which provides a nice family environment so families who may not have a huge income feel they have had a night out but one that's affordable."

KFC opened its latest restaurant in Pool less than a month ago and is also looking at new opportunities in the region.

Mr Moss said that, on top of the Truro restaurant, two outlets in Newquay and Falmouth would open by 2020, bringing the total of KFCs in Cornwall to eight.
