A former phone shop employee has appeared in court and admitting stealing thousands of pounds worth of iPhones and defrauding several customers.

Nicholas May, 32, of Trevaylor Road in Falmouth , entered the dock at Truro Crown Court on Wednesday (June 20) where he had a number of charges read to him by a court clerk.

May, who sobbed in the dock, entered guilty pleas to 12 counts of theft and five fraud charges.

By entering his pleas May held his hands up to helping himself to 18 iPhones and 10 other mobile phone devices from Mad Mobile Ltd and Go Mobile Ltd.

The fraud charges relate to May requesting or authorising phone contracts without permission.

All of the crimes occurred between 2014 and 2018.

Following the entering of the guilty pleas May was released on bail and will return to court on a date yet to be fixed .
