One of the main roads into Truro has been partially blocked after a three-car crash early on Wednesday morning, June 5.

It happened in the village of Tresillian on the A390 road, which links Truro to St Austell.

The crash was first reported at 7.20am and was said to involve three vehicles near Holy Trinity Church.

The emergency services are at the scene and traffic is reported to be slow on the normally busy commuter route. Motorists are advised to be patient and expect delays.

Delays of up to 15 minutes

Cars are reported to be backed up for three miles coming into Tresillian. The delay is estimated at 15 minutes.

Our reporter Lee Trewhela sent in this picture of the police at the scene of the crash. He said there was still oil on the road.

He added that traffic was now moving through the blocked area but backed up in the direction of St Austell.

Heavy traffic reported

The fuel spill at Tresillian is causing delays with reports of traffic backed up to the roundabout on the far side of the Probus bypass.

No serious injuries reported

Police have confirmed that there are no serious injuries as a result of the crash at Tresillian.

However, a spokesman said an ambulance had been called to the scene as a precaution.

He added that fuel had been spilt on the road and there may be a delay in waiting for it to be cleaned up.
