A man who admitted twice assaulting a woman and carrying a knife in public will be sentenced at the end of the month.

Alexander Mark Corin, of Foundry Square, Hayle, appeared at Truro Crown Court on Tuesday (June 2) via video link for a plea hearing.

The 46-year-old admitted two counts of assault by beating against the same victim; the offences happened on February 3 and May 9 this year in Hayle and St Austell respectively.

In addition, Corin pleaded guilty to a charge of having carrying a knife in St Austell on May 9.

Deni Matthews, for the defence, told Judge Simon Carr that Corin wishes him to consider a report prior to sentencing.

“He is insistent I do so,” Mr Matthews said.

Judge Carr told Corin he will sentence him on June 30 when he has received a pre-sentence report.

Corin will remain in custody at HM Prison Exeter until that date.
