There are long delays on the A38 in Plymouth heading towards Cornwall.

Traffic is crawling westbound between Manadon and the Tamar Bridge.

Travel time is reported to be 18 minutes with delays backing up towards Marsh Mills.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that one lane of the Tamar Bridge was closed due to a broken down articulated lorry.

The lorry has now been removed but there are still long delays.

One lane closed and slow traffic due to broken down vehicle on A38 The Parkway Eastbound at B3413 (Forder Valley Interchange).

The broken down vehicle has now been removed and all lanes have reopened.

There are still some delays due to the earlier congestion.

Travel time now 30 minutes

Long delays remain on the A38 - travel time is now down to 30 minutes though.

One lane remains closed near the St Budeaux junction.

Another breakdown adding to problems

There is another broken down vehicle and it’s now adding to the delays.

One lane is closed with long delays and queueing traffic between B3413 (St Budeaux Junction) and Pemros Road (Tamar Bridge).

Congestion back to the Forder Valley Interchange - tavel time is 40 minutes.

Police statement

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “There was a broken down articulated lorry and one lane on the Tamar Bridge was closed. It was recovered and the road reopened 15 minutes ago.”
