Two men have been arrested after a fight broke out on Truro's high street this afternoon.

Police were called to reports of two men fighting near to the Co-op store, on the corner of Duke street and Prince's Street at around 1.10pm on Sunday.

Three police cars and one riot van were seen parked up outside the old BHS building.

Two men, both in their 40s, were detained by officers at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall's Force Incident Manager said that glass had been smashed during the fight, but it was not clear if there were any injuries.

He added that the reason that the men were fighting was not yet known.

Police officers remained at the scene just before 2pm, but the Force Incident Manager said that officers would be shortly departing the scene.

The men have been taken into custody.

Enquiries are ongoing.
