One of Cornwall's most spooky Halloween extravaganzas is back.

The devilish Dennison Road property in Bodmin, known locally as 'Spider House' attracts nearly 300 trick-or-treaters every year.

But while it might be the most frightful sight in the whole of Cornwall, money raised from the decorations goes to the cutest cause - a hedgehog rescue charity in Cubert.

The man behind the scare-fest, Daniel James, said he enjoys raising money for the "harmless little creatures".

He added: "We do it for Prickles and Paws Hedgehog rescue in Cubert.

"Just because what they do is an amazing job - helping all the hedgehogs and supporting them and bringing them back out, when nowadays there’s not as many as you would like to see.

"They are just lovely harmless little creatures really."

He added: "As soon as it comes to around the beginning of October, we start to slowly get bits out and sorted.

"The residents of Bodmin know as soon as October comes the house is going to be decorated so it’s known as either 'Spider House' or 'Halloween House'.

"Everyone stops and the support we get from the whole of Bodmin is amazing.

"Children love it and come and stop at it – parents are constantly driving past just so the children can see it and come to look at what is new and what has been done this year.

"We usually get around 200-300 trick-or-treaters on Halloween night so we make up handmade sweet bags with several individual sweets so everyone has got the same and hopefully we have enough so we don't run out."
