The main road into Truro has been closed this afternoon, due to a single-vehicle crash - and all emergency services are at the scene.
Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix first reported the collision on the A39, near the junction of Tregolls Road and Newquay Road, at 14:23. It says the road is blocked, near the Truro Park and Ride, and traffic is queuing. However, the fire service reports the road has been closed, and fire crews, ambulance and police are at the scene.
Inrix's alert reads: "A39 Tregolls Road Northbound blocked, queueing traffic due to accident at A390 Union Hill.Near the Truro Park and Ride. Affecting traffic heading towards the A30 and Carland Cross."
In a tweet the Fire service said: "Road Traffic Collision. A390, Newquay Road. Appliances from TruroCFRS & the rescue tender from TolvaddonCFRS attended this incident which involved a single vehicle, crews gave general assistance & recovered one casualty to swasFT . Road closed at this time. DC_Police on scene."

Police issue statement
The police have issued a statement and revealed two cars were involved in the incident - and that one man had to be cut free from one of the vehicles, after it smashed into a lamppost.
“Police, fire and ambulance are at the scene of a two-car collision on the A39 Newquay Road, Truro [outside Waitrose].
“The collision happened at 1.35pm today [10 June].
”One car then struck a lamppost trapping the male driver inside.
“He has been released from the vehicle by the fire service. He has sustained injuries but not believed serious. He has been taken to hospital.
“Newquay Road was closed outbound [from Truro] but re-opened at 2.50pm.”
