A bar that opened in Truro last June is already up for sale.

Mr Wolf’s Joint on New Bridge Street in the heart of the city is being sold as a “ideal first business venture” by Miller Commercial.

The lease for the three-storey beer and burger venue is £29,950.

Mr Wolf’s Joint was opened by Matt Wolstenholme, a St Agnes lifeguard by day, bar owner by night.

The intimate and homely bar features upscaled wood furniture, including benches formerly used at the city’s Richard Lander School, and a range of excellent canned and bottled craft beers from local breweries such as Goonhavern’s Black Flag, St Agnes’ Driftwood Spars, Penryn’s Rebel, Bodmin’s Harbour and Padstow Brewing Company.

There are also beers from farther afield such as London’s Meantime Brewing Company and its popular fruity Yakima Red.

Matt – who’s known as Wolfy to his mates – got the taste for craft beers after working at The Canary Gin Bar in Bath.

He told Cornwall Live last year: “We aim to give locals and visitors to Truro a taste of the huge range of beers being produced in Cornwall and elsewhere, from light IPAs and wheat beers through to the darkest porters.”

The premises are laid out over three floors and have recently been refurbished, featuring a ground floor bar/dining area, first floor kitchen and function room and on the second floor is the toilet, storage room and additional customer seating.

Miller Commercial said: “The business opened in the summer of 2018 and is now available owing to our client's external commitments.”

Mr Wolf’s Joint is available by way of an assignment of the existing six-year lease at a current rental of £11,000 per annum with rent reviews every three years.
