A brand new pop-up music venue is coming soon to Cornwall.
The Truronian, will be created on Lemon Quay during Truro Food Festival, with live performances over three nights.
And the team behind the popular festival has just revealed the 2019 music line-up for the event, which will take place in Truro from September 27-29.
The festival is free to attend and there’ll be lots of foodie events and music to enjoy during the day.
Then, in the evenings, a series of ticketed music gigs will feature some of the very best bands and singers from Cornwall and the South West.
The line-up:
Friday is funk and disco night, featuring Mr Deluxx with support from Tribo Groove.
Mr Deluxx is the head of a Truro-based party collective that promises nothing more than music that will make you want to dance. Expect a fun, nocturnal zoo of everything from techno and trance to hip-hop and house – fun dance music that simply lets you get your groove on.
The funk, reggae, hip-hop fusion of seven-piece Newquay band Tribo Groove will be the perfect party warm-up. The band have exploded onto the scene this year and have recently supported the one and only Ziggy Marley in Cornwall.
Saturday is an upbeat party night featuring the amazing sounds of Daytoner Live, supported by the Andy Quick Band and the uber cool sister-band Hockeysmith.
As a DJ and producer, Daytoner has supplied global funk, soul, ska and swing dance floors since 2009 with over 30 releases, remixes and edits on various quality European labels. Daytoner Live adds live musicians and singers to the mix to blur the boundaries between DJ set and live performance.
Their exciting live show effortlessly twists classic vintage hooks and samples into new live remixes along with original floor fillers of their own to provide a totally unique, feel-good night.
There’s been regular radio support for this Penzance-based crew from Craig Charles on BBC 6 Music & Radio 2 along with a BBC Introducing shortlisting, BBC Radio One plays and over a million Soundcloud plays. The band has also played the UK’s finest festivals including Secret Garden Party, Kendal Calling, Glastonbury, Wilderness, Boomtown Fair, Boardmasters and Bestival.
Formed in a living room in 2016, the Andy Quick Band has toured extensively, produced three studio records and are a great live experience. Former Land of the Giants frontman Andy and the crew have a knack for crafting intense anthems that stick with you long after the show is over.
Hockeysmith are two sisters who live in caravan on a farm in Falmouth, where they write and record their darkly disorientating dance music. They emerged last summer and have since been busy performing at The Great Escape, Boardmasters, Thekla and Little Orchard Festival.

Then on Sunday there’s a blues and jazz session with Russell Sinclair and the Smokin’ Locos, Smokey’s King Shufflers and the amazing vocal talent that is Rue with her band.
Russell Sinclair is a prodigious guitar talent with a deep knowledge and understanding of blues music. He's backed by a Smokin’ Loco’s line-up that includes guitarist, drummer and saxophonist in a line-up that’s one of the South West’s top blues bands.
Support on Sunday comes in the form of hard-hitting Chicago blues from Smokey’s King Shufflers and upcoming singer-songwriter Rue who recently featured on BBC Spotlight and is a regular BBC Introducing artist.
Rue has performed at major Festivals including Boardmasters, Tunes in the Dunes and Great Estate as well as supporting major international artists including James Arthur, Martha Reeve and the Vandellas and Newton Faulkner.
Tickets are available now at sale on the website for individual nights, or there’s a wristband offering access to all three nights. A limited number of early bird tickets are also available starting at just £5 plus booking fee.
