Not long ago, on a little TV set in Mexico called ~Paradise~, former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski got engaged after spending an eventful few weeks together. Ever since, there have been reports that Chris and Katie "need counseling" and that they’ve broken up because they don’t post about each other very often on Instagram. The engaged love birds haven’t said much so far—just that Chris doesn’t like how Demi Burnett suggested they go to couples therapy—but that all changed on Saturday when they opened up about being in the spotlight.
Talking to Us Weekly, Chris and Katie confirmed they are still engaged even though their fans freaked out when Chris didn’t go on a couples trip to Napa, California with Katie and some other Bachelor Nation peeps. While split rumors might cause some unnecessary stress on celebrity couples, Katie and Chris find them quite liberating. Chris told the magazine, “It’s kind of great because people actually don’t know if we’re together or we’re not,” which is one way of looking at it!
Katie chimed in and said, “Yeah it’s kind of good sometimes to be that mystery where we’re just like, ‘Huh.’ It’s kind of, like, out of the spotlight a little bit.” She also explained why they haven’t been as active on social media and in the public eye as much as other BiP couples. "We just took a break from it after Paradise ’cause it was very intense and we don’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone, which has been nice," she said.
