JOINT Birthday Celebration: A Caersws lady is celebrating her 100th birthday this weekend.
Mrs Gwyneira Parry Jones will be 100 years old this Saturday, April 27.
Mrs Jones who lives in Caersws is well known in the village.
When asked about her secret to a healthy old age Mrs Jones said: "Good food, keeping warm, and breathing lots of Caersws air."
Montgomeryshire Assembly Member Russell George who shares the same birthday as Mrs Jones, said: "Gwyneira is marvellous for her age, living very independently in her own home, and not only making her own dinner every day, she even makes a Sunday roast for her family."
Mrs Jones was a school dinner lady at Caersws Primary School for many years.
Mr George added: "Gwyneira was even a pensioner when she looked after me in the school playground when I was just a 10-year-old child at Caersws school myself.
"I was born on Gwyneira’s 55th birthday, and it feels special to share my birthday with her and chat to her about her life."
