BISHOPS Castle Town steamrollered Maesyrhandir 16-0 to boost their J T Hughes Montgomeryshire League Honda Division One bid.

Martyn Ziemann led the rout with five foals while George Mellor completed a hat-trick with Ben Edwards and Jake Ellis each completing doubles.

The rout was completed with goals from Jake Cintra, Connor Beasty, Omer Bozdag and Sam Naden as Castle consolidated second place in the table.

Meanwhile Llanwddyn toasted their first win of the season with a 5-2 victory at Waterloo Rovers Reserves in Mitsubishi Division Two.

Bryn Roberts, James Smith, Luke Barry, Iestyn Parry and Dale Evans each struck for the Lakesiders with Dave Walton netting twice in reply for the Welshpool hosts.

Welshpool Town Reserves thumped Llanfyllin Town Reserves 9-1 with doubles each from Luke Thomas, Alex Morgan and Luis Davies laying the foundations.

Phil Turnbull, Adam Clewlow and Ben Marston completed the drubbing with Lewis Makin netting a consolation for the Magpies.

Cameron Hughes and James Rowlands each netted twice as Trefonen stayed top with an 8-0 win at home to to Four Crosses Reserves with Andy Garmston, Louis Morris, Sam Andrew and Tom Kilvert also netting.

Honours ended even at Llanfechain with Churchstoke Reserves claiming a point in a 3-3 draw.

Jack Phillips netted twice with Rob Edwards also on target for the hosts while a Shane Morgan double and Tom Pope strike earned the Marketmen a point.

Elsewhere Llanrhaeadr Reserves progressed to the third round of the Llansantffraid Village Cup with a 3-1 win at home to Meifod.

Sam Sefton, Harri Lloyd and an own goal won the day for the hosts with Gwyn Davies replying.
