Ted Lee Livingston, 49, was captured Wednesday afternoon by U.S. Marshals in Longs, South Carolina, near the border with North Carolina, according to the Horry County Police Department.

According to state prison records, he was convicted of sale of a controlled substance and sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison on Jan. 12, 1990, with a release date of April 90, 1994. Details about where he was in custody and how he escaped were not available.

The task force that arrested Livingston included U.S. Marshals, Horry police and the Connecticut Parole Fugitive Investigations Unit.
