A Bloomfield woman faces an assault charge after police say she bit off the tip of a man’s middle finger, then posted videos with it on Facebook.

“She had no qualms about putting that on social media,” Hartford police Lt. Paul Cicero said.

Anna Lindo, 34, was charged with first-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She was held in lieu of $75,000 bail after her arraignment Tuesday in Superior Court in Hartford.

Police later recovered the finger tip when Lindo’s mother called police to say she’d found it on the dashboard of the car her daughter had been driving. Police took the finger tip to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, where the victim sought treatment, but were told it could not be reattached.

“Due to the complexity of the detachment, coupled with the time-lapse of recovery, the finger could not be reattached,” Cicero said.

The assault happened near the victim’s home on Main Street. The victim told police he was walking to the Jam Roc restaurant and lounge when he heard a car horn sounding. He then saw Lindo walking toward him with a brick in her hand, police said.

The two struggled and the victim told police he tried to get the brick away from Lindo. The victim’s wife came out of their nearby home and Lindo fled, according to a police report. The victim then felt pain in his right hand and realized the tip of his middle finger was missing.

The case was classified as domestic violence because Lindo had at one time been in a relationship with the man. He also told police Lindo had been stalking him and his wife.

Cicero said police are not sure whether Lindo bit or cut the finger tip off. She did not have a knife or other sharp object on her when police caught up with her a short time later.

Lindo was generally uncooperative with police. She refused to be interviewed and was “very agitated,” Cicero said. She was taken to Hartford Hospital for a mental health evaluation, according to the report.

She didn’t mind communicating with her Facebook audience and could be seen holding the finger in several boastful videos, Cicero said.
