Officials are investigating an early-morning fire in a vacant, three-family house in Hartford’s North End Tuesday.

The fire caused extensive damage to the home at 140 Cleveland Ave., at the intersection with Hampton Street, Capt. Mario Oquendo said. No one was injured.

The fire was reported at 1:51 a.m., and firefighters arrived by 1:55 a.m., he said. Heavy fire burned on the second and third floors of the three-story house.

The fire was knocked down at 2:08 a.m., Oquendo said. It wasn’t under control, so it wouldn’t spread, until about 40 minutes later.

The house last changed hands in 1994, city records show.
