Police said they are investigating a report of a weekend fight on Zion Street in Hartford that a woman said led to her being stabbed.

The woman was treated at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury for a stab wound to her right, upper thigh, police said Monday. It wasn’t clear why she went to a hospital in Waterbury.

She told officers she was stabbed with an unknown object when she went to break up a fight involving a group of people in the area of 431 Zion St. about 2 p.m. Sunday, police said.

She suffered small, puncture wound that took two stitches to close, police said.
