Teenager dies in West Hartford after disturbance, police say

Police are looking for information about a disturbance in West Hartford Thursday night that they said may have led to the death of a 17-year-old.

The death, which police are calling “untimely,” happened about 11:50 p.m. at a multifamily house at 359 Prospect Ave., near the Hartford line, police said.

Officers were called to the scene of a disturbance and when they arrived, they found the unresponsive teen, they said. First responders provided medical care, but the teenager was presumed dead.

Detectives were called in to investigate. Police were at the scene throughout the night.

Police said there appears to be no threat to the public.
