We all know the Super Bowl is as much about the food as it is about football. These Connecticut restaurants offer catering and takeout options to make your party even more delicious.

J. Timothy’s, 143 New Britain Ave., Plainville, encourages early ordering for its signature wings in original buffalo, honey gold barbecue, teriyaki and sweet red chili flavors (also available “dirt-style” fried and sauced, then fried and sauced again). There’s also a buffalo chipotle dry rub option. On Super Bowl weekend, the restaurant’s full menu is available for takeout on Jan. 31; and then only buckets of wings (35 to 40 pieces) are available on Feb. 1 and 2. “Cold wing” packs are available, with sauce on the side and reheating instructions. Bistro on Main, 867 Main St., Manchester, offers Super Bowl catering with items like chicken wings, BBQ pork sliders, meatballs and French onion dip. bistro-on-main.com.

Wood-n-Tap offers platters and pans to go, with options like bar bites (mini burgers,) salads, pastas, pizza, wings, chicken tenders, quesadillas, smoked barbecue ribs and soft pretzels.

New this year is a “build your own nachos” kit ($23.99.) You’ll get Wood-n-Tap’s signature house-fried chips with special seasoning, a blend of cheddar and jack cheeses, hand-diced tomatoes, jalapeños, black beans, sour cream and housemade salsa, with a tray for preparation and heating. Willimantic Brewing Company, 967 Main St., Willimantic, offers a $60 party platter with choice of three items, including sandwiches on brewers’ bread, wings, jalapeño poppers, beer-b-q meatballs, panko-crusted crab cake puffs, caprese skewers, fresh fruit skewers and assorted vegetable crudité. Savoy Pizzeria & Craft Bar, 32 LaSalle Road, West Hartford, offers wood-fired wings (one or two dozen); a bucket of meatballs, a choice of two pizzas and a growler of Brewtus Maximus ale, meatball or Italian combo grinders, an antipasto platter for 10 people and Savoy primavera or Caesar salad (feeds 10.) Max Burger in West Hartford offers a $99 game day party pack (serves 6 to 8 people) with a dozen sliders, a dozen chicken wings, 1 1/2 pounds of pulled pork with potato rolls, 2 quarts of mac and cheese, artichoke dip and a quart of coleslaw. Bear’s Smokehouse offers four “big game” packages.

The Flying Monkey Grill & Bar, 2095 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, offers pre-orders for wings in quantities of 20 to 200 ($35 to $300.) Wing sauce flavors include BBQ, buffalo, garlic parmesan, honey mustard, Spicy Monkey, honey soy ginger, Thai peanut, bourbon sauce and fresh herb dry rub. Republic and Republic at the Linden in Bloomfield and Hartford offer Super Bowl takeout options like wings ($50 for 50 or $90 for 100), nachos ($25; $30 with chicken), mac and cheese, burgers, hummus and naan platters and Philly cheesesteak sliders. Cafe Louise Catering, 1156 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, offers a full menu of Super Bowl options, including warm dips, appetizers (mini kielbasa or short rib bites, mini meatballs, wings and tenders); chilis, lasagnas, sliders, stuffed breads and desserts. Ted’s Montana Grill, with locations in Hartford and South Windsor, offers a catering menu, with beef and bison sliders, crab cakes, fresh-cut chips with ranch onion dip, entrees like bison brisket and bison meatloaf, salads, sides and desserts. Geronimo Tequila Bar & Southwest Grill’s locations in Fairfield and New Haven offer takeout packages with build-your-own-taco ingredients, chips and guacamole, Hatch green chile, mac and cheese and margarita flavoring kits (you provide the tequila and ice.) Looking to go out? Tavern at Keney Park, 171 Windsor Ave., Windsor, hosts a Super Bowl party Feb. 2 at 6 p.m., with an all-you-can-eat munchies buffet (bone-in wings and chicken tenders, jalapeño poppers, mac and cheese, meatballs, crunchy beef quesadillas and more) served from kickoff to halftime.
