Good news for Dave Matthews Band fans in Connecticut: Its 2020 Summer Tour kicks off with two shows at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on June 16 and 17.

The bad — or maybe slightly weird — news is that Matthews chose to play the casino, which seats about 10,000 in the arena, instead of Hartford, where he’s made a stop on every summer tour for the past two decades.

According to the fan site DMBAlmanac.com, Matthews and company performed at least one show at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, a 30,000-capacity indoor/outdoor amphitheater (formerly known as the Meadows Music Theatre, the New England Dodge Music Center and Comcast Theatre), every summer since 1995. (The band didn’t stage summer tours in 2011 and 2017, and has also performed at Mohegan Sun previously in 2012 and 2018.)

Online ticket pre-sales (for members of the DMB Warehouse Fan Association) for the Mohegan Sun shows begin on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. at warehouse.davematthewsband.com. The general public can buy tickets starting on Friday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m.

The Summer Tour 2020 continues on to Noblesville, Indiana; Chicago; Saratoga Springs, New York; Gilford, New Hampshire; West Palm Beach, Florida; Irvine, California; and Durant, Oklahoma.

More fun stats: Over the years, the Dave Matthews Band (or Dave and Tim Reynolds) performed 42 shows at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, with more than 160 unique songs played.
