Violette Helen Regina Jean Orzech Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen FH Helen Regina (Orzech) “Jean” Violette, 90, of West Hartford, died peacefully June 6, 2019 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, daughter of the late Adam and Helen (Sczempowicz) Orzech. Jean and her late brother, Teddy, were raised in Hartford. A member of the National Honor Society Jean graduated from Bulkeley HS in 1946. She went to work in accounting at The Phoenix. Jean married the late Richard Ronald “Ron” Violette in 1951 and raised three children.While Ron was still teaching, they spent several summers working for Black Hall Marina in Old Lyme. Once their children were grown, Jean re-entered the workforce as office manager for Gosselin Parking Lots. Jean was a member of the Junior League of Hartford for many years. She was also active in St. Brigid’s Mother’s Circle and Special Olympics of Connecticut. Jean enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, with her friends. After retirement, Jean traveled more with Ron and later with Gigi and friends.Trips took her to Europe, across country by motor-home, to Texas to visit cousins, to family in Maine, and of course Cape Cod and the Connecticut shoreline. In these last years, Jean spent time reading on her Kindle and playing all sorts of word games. Jean leaves a legacy of hospitality. She opened her doors to family members and friends young and old, taking each under her wing and bringing them into the family fold. Jean is predeceased by her husband Ron (at just under 50 years), infant son Richard Ronald II,parents, brother, Theodore A. “Ted” Orzech, and son in law, Richard C. “Chip” Quinn. Jean is survived by her son, Mark C. Violette and wife, Cynthia; two daughters, Regina A. “Gigi” Quinn, and Suzanne M. and husband, Chip Hilborn; two grandchildren, Megan Rose Hilborn and Zachary J. Hilborn, all of West Hartford. Arrangements are through Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, West Hartford. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford at noon on, Firday, June 28, 2019.
