This Louisville chef battles it out, again, on 'Chopped.' Does he have the skills to win?

One of Louisville's favorite chefs has been called back up to the "Chopped" kitchen on the Food Network.

At 9 p.m. Tuesday, Josh Moore, executive chef and managing partner at Volare Italian Ristorante, 2300 Frankfort Ave., will face off against other "Chopped" champions as they return to the stoves, racing the clock and conquering basket after basket with the hope of moving on to the $50,000 finale.

"The Champs Challenge" pits 16 former "Chopped" champions against each other for a shot at the grand prize. Each week, the mystery baskets of ingredients result in some chefs leaving the competition and others remaining to cook another day.

Hosted by Ted Allen, the Feb. 11 Food Network competition will be the final episode before the grand finale cook-off for the $50,000 prize.

The show kicks off with contestants receiving a colossal clam and starchy comfort food in the first basket. In the entree round, the judges are eager to find out if the chefs can wing it with squab, a young domestic pigeon, and the dessert round puzzle includes a wild pizza pie and purple tuber yam.

We're guessing Moore fairs pretty well because he's throwing a viewing party at his restaurant the night the episode will air. The "reservations only" viewing party beings at 8 p.m. Call the restaurant to secure your spot at 502-894-4446.
