A Louisville man who was on house arrest when police said he murdered 31-year-old James Harris in 2017 was sentenced Monday to life in prison.

Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Mitch Perry agreed with a jury’s recommended life sentence for Justin Curry, 31, who fatally shot Harris at his apartment in the Bashford Manor neighborhood in August 2017.

Curry had been placed on house arrest just days before the deadly shooting in 2017 and also had felony charges in 2012 and 2015.

Harris had reportedly allowed Curry to stay at his apartment in the 2000 block of Terril Lane while Curry was on house arrest.
