Man fatally shot in Chickasaw neighborhood, Louisville police say

A man was fatally shot Saturday morning in the Chickasaw neighborhood, according to Louisville police.

Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said officers responded about 6:30 a.m. Saturday to a reported shooting in the 800 block of Cecil Avenue. Officers found a man in his 20s lying on the sidewalk, Smiley said.

He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Smiley said.

Police have not determined if the victim was resident of the area. An investigation is ongoing, and no suspects or arrests have been reported.
