Louisville Metro Police officials are searching for suspects after a fatal shooting Sunday afternoon in a Kroger parking lot.

First Division officers responded to the call at around 3:30 p.m., according to a statement from department spokesman Dwight Mitchell. Those who arrived at the scene — the parking lot of the Kroger grocery store at Broadway and 28th Street — found a male who had been shot.

The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, Mitchell said, where he was pronounced dead.

On Monday, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Dayshawn Tolbert, 37, of Louisville.

LMPD on Tuesday announced the arrest of Carl B. Hardin, 21, in connection with the case. A statement from Mitchell said Hardin and Tolbert got into an argument at the gas pumps, and that Hardin shot Tolbert multiple times with several witnesses standing behind Tolbert. He's been charged with murder and wanton endangerment, Mitchell said.
