The body that was pulled from the Ohio River in New Albany last week has been identified as that of a 17-year-old Louisville teen, according to authorities.

Paul Dendekker was found by a fisherman April 12 at the New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater and later identified by a Floyd County coroner, Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said.

No foul play is suspected, he added.

Authorities believe he went missing a few weeks ago, and a missing person report has been canceled by LMPD, Mitchell said.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources previously said the Louisville Fire Department recovered the body Friday evening in New Albany, with assistance from other Kentucky and Indiana first responders.

An earlier version of this story included an incorrect spelling of Paul Dendekker's name based on information provided by police.
