Emese Hof scored 25 points to help No. 20 Miami beat No. 2 Louisville 79-73 on Sunday.

Laura Cornelius added 16 points and six assists as the Hurricanes (22-5, 10-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) earned their fourth consecutive victory. Mykea Gray had 10 points.

Miami trailed by as many as 14 in the second quarter. The Hurricanes' fifth — and biggest — win over a ranked foe in six games this season also gave coach Katie Meier her 350th win in her 18-year career.

Asia Durr led Louisville (23-2, 10-2) with 16 points on 5-for-17 shooting. Dana Evans had 14, and Kylee Shook and Bionca Dunham each scored 12.

Louisville jumped out to a big lead, holding Miami to just 4-of-12 shooting in the first quarter and forcing six turnovers in the period. But the Hurricanes rallied thanks to a big finish by Hof.

The Dutch native scored 18 in the second half, going 7 for 10 from the field. She converted a tie-breaking layup with 1:27 left to give the Hurricanes their first lead since early in the game.

BIG PICTURE

Miami: The Hurricanes are in the mix for the ACC title. They are among four teams with two losses atop the conference standings, and they beat Notre Dame and Louisville. Miami closes out the regular season against the other co-leader, North Carolina State, on March 3.

Louisville: Coach Jeff Walz said a couple of weeks ago that the game against the Hurricanes would be a difficult one for his team, and Miami proved him right. Louisville shot just 41.2 percent against the conference's third-toughest defense.
