Louisville-area golfers take home 2019 Kentucky All-State honors

Lexington Christian Academy senior Laney Frye and Marshall County junior Jay Nimmo have been named Kentucky’s Ms. Golf and Mr. Golf by Golf House Kentucky and the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association.

Frye, who has committed to the University of Kentucky, became the first repeat Ms. Golf winner since North Hardin’s Lydia Gumm won three straight from 2010-12. Frye earned 925 points after finishing as the runner-up in the state tournament earlier this month. She won four tournaments during the regular season.

Nimmo finished with 915 points after winning the state championship earlier this month. He won four tournaments during the regular season.

Earning first-team All-State honors from the Louisville area were St. Xavier senior Drew Doyle, Trinity senior John Marshall Butler and Shelby County junior Grace Clark.

All-State points are earned during regular-season and postseason tournaments.
