The first snowfall that actually sticks to the ground could hit the Louisville area Thursday.

But don't fret: It won't be much.

Starting around 2 p.m., pockets of a wintry mix, mostly snow, are expected to hit the area, National Weather Service meteorologist Brian Schoettmer said. That'll go into the early evening, ending around 7 p.m.

"There's mostly pockets of rain, freezing rain and then a few pockets of snow," Brian Schoettmer. "There shouldn't be a massive impact to roadways, but at least a dusting on your grass."

Chance of precipitation is 80 percent with snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. The chances of snow diminish to 30 percent as the evening goes on. The temperatures are a high of 36 degrees on Thursday with a low of 27 degrees.
