Sunday afternoon will bring more showers and thunderstorms to the Louisville area

The Louisville area should expect scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and into the evening. 

"A few storms could become strong to severe, with damaging winds and heavy rainfall as the main threats," a National Weather Service severe weather outlook says for the Ohio Valley region.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 85 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Sunday night, the chance of showers and thunderstorms continues throughout the evening and into early Monday morning, with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Expect a low near 70 degrees, according to the NWS. 

Between a quarter and half of an inch of rain is possible.

Monday forecast

Showers and thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon and into the evening with a high near 84 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 60%, with between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain expected.
