A driver was taken to hospital after his car crashed in to a parked van in Coventry.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Old Church Road, Foleshill, at around 9pm on Wednesday (May 20) where a red Audi had collided with a white van.

Firefighters from Foleshill station were the first to arrive at the scene and found the man was already out of the car.

However, they administered oxygen to him before he was handed over to the care of paramedics.

A spokesman for Foleshill fire station said the man was taken to hospital.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a car colliding with parked cars in Old Church Road in Coventry at about 8.45pm on Wednesday evening.

"The driver, a teenage man, was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to University Hospital in Coventry."
