Coventry City Girls FC first team have just signed a three year deal which will see them secure a new home ground with brand new facilities.

The club will be moving to the Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry, securing a new place to play on their 3G pitch.

Greg Smith, first team manager, said: "We now have a stable base to build on for the foreseeable future, which will be beneficial to not only our club, the Alan Higgs, but most importantly our players.

"The facilities are fantastic and our players are going to enjoy walking down to their changing rooms seeing the Coventry City Academy players' pictures on the walls."

The new home has created a lot of excitement among the players, and supporters as the club has grown in size over the past few years.

CCGFC is now officially the biggest club in the central Warwickshire girls league with 12 teams and more than 150 girls signed.

We reported back in 2013 on how the football club was on the lookout for new players, and they have since risen through the ranks to be part of the nation's fastest growing sport.

The club was one of the first in the Midlands to have a Foundation Squad for girls aged four to eight, giving them a chance to have lots of fun while learning how to play football.

Mr Smith added: "The growth of the club is down to the hard work of the committee, managers, coaches and our sponsors. A big thank you to our first team sponsors Dream Displays and Mi-Mentor.

"We are looking forward to the start of our season and encourage supporters to come and watch our women and girls play."
