A young man who had over 1,500 indecent images of children has admitted his crimes.

Thomas Williams, 20, pleaded guilty to three counts of making - which can include downloading - a total of 1,511 indecent images of children.

The images included 372 still images of the most severe kind - category A - and then 285 in category B and 854 in category C.

Williams, of Armscott Road, Wyken, entered his guilty pleas at Coventry Magistrates' Court and will be sentenced at the crown court in September.

He has been released on bail until that hearing at Warwick Crown Court.

Other cases heard at Coventry Magistrates' Court between August 5 and August 7 included:

Billy Jenkins, 34, of no fixed address, admitted causing £500 worth of damage to a window belonging to West Midlands Police.

He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £200 compensation and a £32 victim surcharge.

Guy Mitchell, 35, of St Patrick's Road, city centre, was found guilty in his absence of assault by beating and failing to answer bail.

He was sent to prison for 24 weeks (20 weeks for new offences and four weeks for previous offences resentenced from community order to prison time), handed a restraining order and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Mark Senter, 46, of no fixed address, admitted assault by beating and assault by beating which was racially aggravated.

He was sent to prison for 12 weeks due to the attack on a public servant and ordered to pay £50 compensation to each of his victims.

Anthony Greene, 62, of Rollaston Road, Radford, admitted stealing a Samsung mobile phone worth £350.

He was sent to prison for 16 weeks due to the offence being committed on licence and him being recently released from custody.

He was also ordered to pay £350 compensation.

Adam Rutyna, 34, of Beake Avenue, Whitmore Park, admitted stealing a bicycle worth £80, fraud by false representation (using stolen bank card) and stealing handbags, wallet, cash and bank cards as a trespasser.

He was handed a 26-week prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to pay £62 compensation, £185 court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Thomas Coughlen, 59, of no fixed address, was found guilty of two counts of assault by beating against a police officer, and admitted assault by beating against a nurse and committing an offence while subject to a suspended sentence (criminal damage).

He was sent to prison for 58 weeks (52 weeks for new offences and six weeks imposed from suspended sentence) and ordered to pay £500 to each of his three assault victims.
