A man arrested after a handgun, bullets and a silencer were found at a home in Coventry has appeared in court.

Allistair McFadyen was taken in to police custody after officers executed a warrant at a house in Lyndale Road, Whoberley, on Monday, August 19.

Items recovered by police included a Glock pistol and ammunition, and McFadyen, 23, of Lyndale Road, was charged with possessing a prohibited handgun, possessing ammunition and possessing a silencer.

He appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (August 20) where he didn't enter any pleas and the case was sent to the crown court where McFadyen will appear on September 19.

A 24-year-old woman also arrested by police during the raid and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
