Two knives have been recovered from the scene of a crash involving a stolen moped in Coventry today.

Police were called by the ambulance service to Binley Road shortly after 11am this morning, Sunday, June 9, following reports of a collision between a car and a moped.

The incident took place near to The Bull's Head pub, and resulted in a road closure from Brays Lane to Raleigh Road, as the emergency services attended the scene.

It is believed that the moped drove into the back of a car.

West Midlands Police have confirmed that the moped was stolen .

Two knives were also recovered from the scene.

Currently, there has been no arrests, as the suspect, the 17-year-old moped rider has been taken to hospital with injuries - which include a broken leg.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We received a call at 11.15 this morning from the ambulance service to attend a road traffic collision involving a car and a bike on Binley Road near to the Bull's Head pub.

"On arrival we found a moped in the road, and the road was blocked.

"We believe that the moped has gone into the back of a car.

"The rider has suffered an arm injury and a broken leg.

"The moped is confirmed to be stolen, and we recovered two knives at the scene.

"No arrests have been made, as the suspect has been taken to hospital."
