Police have confirmed that they were called to a Coventry primary school after reports of a boy with a knife on the premises.

Earlier today, Courthouse Green Primary School issued a statement reassuring parents after an incident took place on Thursday, December 13.

The school claimed that one of their pupils was "targeted" by an older, secondary aged pupil.

And West Midlands Police have now confirmed that they were called to reports of a boy with a knife on the school premises.

However, despite the school saying that the boy "came onto (the) school with the intent to harm", police revealed that there were no reported injuries or threats made.

Enquiries are in progress, with officers returning to the school this morning to talk to senior management.
