Coventry's London Road tip re-opened this week with a string of new rules to abide by if you want to get rid of some rubbish.

And while on paper they may look like a hinderance to clearing out your garage or loft, CoventryLive readers appear to be loving the new regime.

The household waste and recycling centre closed amid the coronavirus pandemic over fears users were not complying with social distancing rules as reported in our Coventry newsletter.

Measures introduced by Coventry City Council to allow the site to re-open this week include a pre-booking system, a limit on the type of vehicles, how many people can enter the site and the need to prove you're from Coventry.

And while other tips around the region have reported long queues to get in, Coventry's appears to be running like a well oiled machine.

The new system is running so well, our readers have been left wondering why is hasn't been this way all along, and calling for the new rules to remain in place forever.

You can read a full breakdown of the rules here.
