Coventry and Warwickshire is set for strong winds tomorrow as Storm Freya heads for the UK.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning and warned of travel disruption and possible dangerous conditions this weekend.

The yellow warning for wind is in place from 3pm on Sunday (March 3) until 6am on Monday (March 4).

The latest forecast predicts winds of around 50mph for Coventry on Sunday evening.

According to the Met Office, regions hit by Storm Freya can expect possible injuries and damage from flying debris, fallen tree branches and even road closures.

The warning covers the whole of the West Midlands and Warwickshire as well as places further West and North.

What did the Met Office say?

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Storm Freya is expected to push quickly north-east across parts of England, Wales and southern Scotland through Sunday afternoon and evening, before clearing into the North Sea through the early part of Monday.

"Gusts of 55-65 mph are likely widely, with the potential for gusts of 70-80 mph for coastal parts of Cornwall, northern Devon, Wales and north-west England.

"The very highest winds look likely to occur on Sunday evening over parts of coastal Wales and most probably west and north-west Wales."
