A well-known health store could set-up shop on the site of Bedworth's biggest supermarket.

It has been revealed that Holland and Barrett could become a new addition at the Tesco store in Leicester Street.

Coventry Live spotted that a building control application had been made to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

In it, it says it is for 'the installation of a new tenant area completed to a shell stage, alterations to the controlled fittings and services and associated works.'

Tesco store in Bedworth

Coventry Live contacted Tesco and a spokesperson for the supermarket said that it was for a Holland and Barrett store.

The health chain is no stranger to the borough as it has its HQ in neighbouring Nuneaton and also has a store in Bridge Street in Nuneaton town centre.

As the application is for building control, it is an independent building control expert, not the borough council, which will decide if it is given the green light.
