A logistics firm is hiring drivers, warehouse operatives, IT specialists and more besides after opening up for business in Coventry.

Carousel Logistics is a European service logistics specialist, which focuses on high-performance industries.

The firm announced its Coventry recruitment drive on Twitter, saying it was looking for warehouse operatives and drivers.

The firm is also recruiting for other roles, including IT ones, at its operations at Birmingham Airport and Birmingham.

In a tweet Carousel said: “Our new #Coventry hub is now open and we’re on the hunt for experienced #warehouse operatives and #drivers. If you’re passionate about what you do, then why not join us?”

Warehouse operatives (Coventry)

Carousel says its Midlands operations are vital to its network and to support its increasing client base.

It is looking for warehouse operatives to strengthen our team.

Those appointed will be responsible for loading and unloading delivery vehicles and ensuring goods are sorted correctly for dispatch.

People who are appointed will work in a fast-paced environment where they will need to be able to work methodically and carefully to maintain accuracy and quality.

Applicants should be good communicators with a strong work ethic and be physically able to handle the volume and weight of the goods the company works with.

Carousel is looking for people both with and without a forklift truck licence.

The recruitment ad says: “For all roles previous warehouse experience is required, as is a ‘can-do’ attitude and a commitment to doing your best every day.”

The hours of work are 45 per week across a 24/7 operation.

Class 1/18 tonne drivers (Coventry)

Carousel has vacancies for class 1 and 18 tonne drivers due to the fact it now operates from Coventry delivering to a variety of UK locations.

The recruitment ad says: “We pride ourselves on our positive attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes and more to deliver for our clients.”

Applicants will need to have relevant and up-to-date licences and be used to maintaining a vehicle and operating safely in line with the company’s procedures and driving rules and regulations.

The roles involve working 50 hours a week and applicants will need to be willing to be flexible across the company’s 24/7 operation, as required.

The ad continues: “Our team works together to get the job done so you’ll be able to chip-in with loading and unloading the vehicles when an extra pair of hands is needed too. “

Client support agent (fixed-term, Birmingham Airport)

Working as part of a team this role involves providing an exceptional client experience via all communication channels as the first point of contact to clients and suppliers.

Carousel says ‘going the extra mile’ is part of the daily activity.

The person appointed will need to be able to take ownership of all client enquiries both new and follow up with a focus on providing first call resolution or help whilst positively managing expectations.

They will also need to produce and monitor daily customer reports and ensure operational queries, tracking enquires and ad hoc requests are dealt with quickly and effectively and communicated proactively to the client.

In addition the role involves producing handover reports for management that are accurate, timely and clearly signpost any specific issues or concerns.

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate they are able to focus on continuous improvement by reviewing existing systems and processes and making recommendations for change to improve service, cost and efficiency.

The working hours are 10.30am-7pm Monday-Friday.

IT business analyst (fixed-term, Birmingham)

Carousel is recruiting for this role in Birmingham.

The person appointed will report to the head of IT and the role will support the continued enhancement and development of a new platform.

Responsibilities are as follows:

To capture and document technical requirements related to IT solutions, new client implementation and business process change.

Production and agreement of solution designs incorporating the business process, development, integration and external supplier input.

This role is also based in Birmingham and Carousel is looking for an experienced, hands-on senior business analyst to support and assist the IT department and the wider business in developing a new platform. 

Responsibilities are as follows:

Management and coordination of work for two business analysts.

Work with the IT department, other business users and external providers to manage the development and delivery of business requirements.

Support end users with training and associated documentation as needed.

Define standard procedures and policy in managing business requirements and change.

Support the development and execution of testing activity.

Facilitate the automated exchange of data between applications, clients and suppliers working with various communication technologies.

Document data flow processes and assist with data integration queries.

.Net Developer (Birmingham)

Another IT role in Birmingham, this role involves working within a team and reporting to the head of IT.

The role is described as both exciting and challenging, as the business looks to use .Net technology to evolve its software estate and create a more consistent approach to delivering client solutions.

Responsibilities are as follows:

Use Microsoft technologies - C#.NET, SQL, MVC, and Microsoft Workflow  -to develop creative technical solutions to complex problems.
