A man has been killed following a road smash in the early hours of this morning.

He died at the scene of the crash in Bourton on Dunsmore.

Elsewhere a young lad is also fighting for life after a motorbike crash in Nuneaton on Saturday night.

Police statement on fatal crash

Police have released a statement after a driver was killed when his car crashed into a tree.

Officers are asking for anyone who witnessed the crash involving a grey Toyota to contact them.

Train delays

There are delays of up to 15 minutes on London Northwestern and Virgin Trains between Coventry and Rugby.

This is due to signalling problems.

JLR new parts facility

On CoventryLive today we have a report that Jaguar Land Rover are revealing plans for a giant new parts facility.

It will be a huge global parts distribution base in the East Midlands.

The facility would consist of five units and replace ten existing sites across the Midlands, one of which is close to Coventry Airport.

The A4390 Arden Street in both directions is partially blocked.

There is slow traffic due to an accident between Mansell Street and the A3400 Birmingham Road.

Multi-vehicle accident

There is one lane closed and queuing traffic due to an accident involving a lorry and two cars on the M40 Northbound between Junction 16 A3400 Stratford Road (Henley In Arden) and M42 Junction 3A.

Three week heatwave

It might feel like we’ve hardly seen the sunshine this summer, but the temperatures are set to climb according to forecasters at the Met Office.

High pressure is set to bring warmer conditions to the UK, bringing an end to the unsettled weather of late.

Lane closure

One lane is closed due to a broken down vehicle on the M1 Northbound from Junction 18 A5 (Rugby) to Junction 19 M6 (Catthorpe Interchange).

Traffic is coping well.

1.5 mile queues

There is queueing traffic for 1.5 miles and delays on the A45 Coventry Road Eastbound between Hobs Moat Road (Sheldon) and Birmingham Airport Cargo Area (Elmdon).

In the roadworks area. Travel time is currently 15 minutes.

Man dies after tree crash

A man has died this morning following a car crashing into a tree.

Emergency services were called this morning to the Straight Mile in Burton on Dunsmore at 2:26am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police incident causing delays at A45/Pickford Way

There are queues on the exit slip road from the A45 southbound at the junction with Pickford Way in Coventry.

One of the two lanes on the slip road is cloised due to the incident which is on the traffic island at the junction with Pickford Way.

Schoolboy fighting for life

A schoolboys is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious road collision on Saturday.

He was on a bike with two other people when it collided with a car in Nuneaton.

The 12-year-old, who has not been identified, remains in Birmingham Children’s Hospital receiving treatment for what have been described as ‘multiple serious injuries’ following the incident in Marston Lane.

Lane closure

There is one lane closed and slow traffic due to two broken down vehicles on the M6 Northbound from Junction 3 A444 Bedworth Bypass (Nuneaton/Coventry) to Junction 4 M42/A446 (Coleshill).

New four star hotel

A new four star hotel is planned for the city’s Friargate development.

Plans for Hotel Indigo have been made public in a council report this morning.

Hotel Indigo is set to be built in time for Coventry being UK City of Culture in 2021.

The M6 Northbound lane is closed on the entry slip road from services and there is slow traffic due to a broken down vehicle at Corley Services.

The incident off Junction 4 of the Ring Road has now been cleared.

Road re-opened

The Straight Mile in both directions has been re-opened, the accident has been cleared between Main Street and A4071 Dunchurch/Lawford Heath Turn.

It was closed at 5:15 this morning but was opened again at 8:30.

West Midlands Police said they are attending a two car collision this morning.

Nobody is seriously injured.

Ring Road collision

There has been a road traffic collision this morning on a Ring road junction.

It occurred between Gulson Road and London Road where Elliot’s car accessories used to be.

One woman is currently being treated at the scene and there is one ambulance and police in attendance.

Speed Cameras

The number of drivers caught by speed cameras in Coventry doubled in the space of a year.

A total of 1,083 motorists were caught in 2018, compared to 513 in 2017 and 764 in 2016.

Although it was a pretty wet start to the day, the rain has now passed.

The rest of today looks like a bit of a mixture of weathers, including some rain around mid afternoon and sunny spells later on in the day.
