Hello all and welcome to Tuesday's live traffic and travel blog.

It's the second day of half-term, meaning that things should generally be easier for motorists during those busy morning and evening periods.

We'll be keeping our eyes on the roads as well as public transport to help keep you moving.

The A46 is currently closed just before the London Road junction.

This is due to a collision which has seen a car end up on it's roof.

All emergency services are in attendance, and police are blocking off the road.

We'll have the latest on this as we get it.

We'll also be bringing you the latest news.

Traffic is now flowing freely again following a log-jam which saw tailbacks stretching back ten miles.

Traffic easing on M6

Traffic is easing and the delays are clearing on the M6 southbound.

Problems resulted from two broken-down vehicles - initially a lorry and later a car - between J4 for the M42 and A446 and Corley Services.

One lane was closed and there were tailbacks stretching back ten miles at one point.

Tailbacks improving on M6

The good news is that the tailbacks on the M6 southbound are shortening and all lanes are now reopened.

They are still lengthy at eight miles or so, but that’s an improvement on the ten-mile tailbacks of half-an-hour ago.

The tailbacks are as a result of two breakdowns - a car and a lorry - between J4 for the M42/Coleshill and Corley Services.

Two breakdowns occurred in the same area. The initial broken down lorry was recovered at 8.20am, the later broken down car was cleared by 8.30am.

M6 tailbacks lengthening

Tailbacks on the M6 southbound are now estimated to be ten miles long.

Recovery work is taking place to retrieve a broken-down lorry and clear anoil spillage.

The incident took place between J4 for the M42/A446 (Coleshill) and Corley Services.

Congestion is stretching back as far as J5 for Castle Bromwich and estimated travel time through the congested area is still estimated to be 50 minutes.

The recovery process will take place once the oil spillage has been cleared.

Delays were made worse by a further breakdown in the approaching queues shortly after 8am.

Delays on the B4451 southbound before J12 of the M40 for Gaydon due to roadworks.

A lane is still closed on the bridge across the motorway while a manhole cover awaits repair.

It is also affecting traffic leaving the M40 - as there is no motorway roundabout, meaning traffic must wait to join the road which crosses the bridge.
