Police and paramedics were called to reports of a man with a stab wound in Nuneaton last night.

They responded to 999 calls made at 5.50pm last night (August 20) that said a man had been stabbed in the leg on Hinckley Road.

On arrival they found a man, who has not been identified, with a knife wound to his leg.

It was confirmed at the scene that the wound was self-inflicted.

Medics from West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) treated the man at the scene.

He was then taken to the George Eliot Hospital for further assessment.
