Police are hunting a wanted man who escaped from hospital in Coventry.

Kieron Jenkins, 30, escaped while with officers at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire yesterday at around 5.45pm (June 14).

Residents reported a large police presence outside the hospital in the Boswell Drive area of Walsgrave yesterday evening.

The police helicopter was also seen hovering in the area.

Police are warning anyone who sees Jenkins not to approach him, but to call 999.

He is also wanted in connection with a burglary.

What did West Midlands Police say?

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Police are appealing for information to help find Kieron Jenkins who is wanted, after escaping while officers were at a hospital with him in Coventry yesterday (14 June).

"Kieron Jenkins, 30, was last seen at 5.45pm yesterday.

"He is also wanted in connection with a burglary.

"Jenkins is believed to be wearing a hospital gown and no footwear.

"Members of the public are advised not approach him but to call 999 immediately."

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency 101 number quoting crime reference number 20CV/75105V/19.
