Looking for the love of your life? Then look no further than our great city of Coventry.

We always tend to start the roll/bap/batch argument - it's a batch people - and we're from a place with a pretty neutral accent.

You do have to put up with certain daily annoyances like driving around the ring road and seeing Lady Godiva pop out of a clock every hour in Broadgate - but that is what makes Coventry Cov.

But surely those are minor sacrifices that you would be willing to make to live alongside some amazing people that make the city what it is.

Not only will you get the perks of our sparkling personalities, there are also some good-looking events throughout the year you can be taken on a date.

Without further ado, here are nine reasons why we think we are marriage material...

1. We are the centre of England

A monument in Meriden, near Coventry, already marks the traditional centre of the country.

We of course, would be the centre of your earth, so it is only fitting we come from a place near to the centre of the country.

To mark the centre, an ancient, listed monument dating back more than 500 years stands there.

Although critics argue that this modern recalculation in no way diminishes Meriden’s claims, which had been unchallenged for centuries, because they stem back to a time before science mattered.

2. Motofest

Motofest 2019 was the biggest and best year yet for the annual Coventry event.

The spectacle attracts thousands every year, and the main attraction is where one section of the ring road is closed to be turned into a racing, or timed race, circuit.

The supercars returned and there was also a variety of racing, ranging from BARC to the hugely popular racing trucks.

Away from the circuit and arena there were hundreds of classic motorbikes and cars on display, fairground rides and attractions (including the wall of death), food stalls and entertainment.

We know how to rev your engines.

3. We have Lady Godiva

Coventry is pretty famous for being the home of Lady Godiva and Peeping Tom, however us women in Cov don't exactly walk around with our tops off.

Lady Godiva was a rich landowner in her own right and one of her most valuable properties was Coventry.

But watch out lads, if you're in it for the money, we've got our eye on you.

4. Well educated - we have two universities for crying out loud

You can count on us to put 2+2 together.

We are the home of two world class universities after all.

Okay, so even if we didn't go to uni, or one in the city, it's got to have rubbed off on us right?

5. We are smoking hot

There are a surprising amount of gorgeous celebrities who are from Coventry.

Hollywood star Clive Owen and electropop singer Lauren Bettison are just two of a long list of celebs who heat up the city's name.

Let's not forget Sophie Turner of Warwickshire though too. We're a region of hotties.

6. We gave you the sexy Jaguar car

If you love cars, you know a beauty when you see it.

You hear the roar of the engine and see its sleek body work.

There's nothing like a home-grown Jag though to get those motoring eyes popping. Even the Duke of Sussex loves a Jag as he had one for his wedding to Meghan Markle.

7. We know how to drive properly thanks to being brought up driving the ring road

Coventry ring road appears as confusing to some drivers as string theory or long division.

But you don't need to be a genius to drive around it correctly, the rules are actually very simple - if everyone follows them... which is a big if.

Most of us took our driving lessons around the ring road, so we're accustomed to it.

It also means we learn how to drive properly, so if you drive behind us thinking we're hogging the right hand lane - WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE IN IT! (Unless you're coming off)

8. We celebrate everyone - just look at Coventry Pride

Hundreds of people take part in Coventry Pride with a colourful march through the city centre.

9. We've got a planet of our own

We actually do.

A minor planet (or asteroid) was named 3009 Coventry after it was discovered in September 1973 by Soviet astronomer Nikolai Stepanovich Chernykh at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (CrAO) in Nauchny, near Bakhchysarai, Ukraine.

It lies in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

Chernykh knew of Coventry because it is twinned to Volgograd, formerly Stalingrad.

Fun fact of the day for you.
