Supporters have been reliving that glorious day at Wembley in 2018 when Coventry City secured promotion.

Thursday was two years to the day since the Sky Blues triumphed in the League Two play-off final.

Exeter City were memorably beaten 3-1 as goals from Jordan Willis, Jordan Shipley and Jack Grimmer clinched victory.

It meant an immediate return to League One and a chance for almost 40,000 travelling fans to celebrate the club’s first promotion for 51 years.

With the 2019/20 season currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, City supporters took the opportunity to reflect on a day which saw jubilant scenes on the pitch and in the stands.

Here’s what they have been saying on our Facebook page.

Ben Gray: So glad I got to see the mighty Cov at Wembley... footy may never be the same.

Keith Mc Cready: Fantastic day and the sun always makes an appearance for the Sky Blues.

And we asked where that day would rank among your favourite Sky Blues memories:

Will Edred Wilkes: 1. League 2 play-off final. Took my daughter to Wembley and I had the privilege to see her excitement all day watching our team win. Nothing short of a beautiful day, that.

2. Checkatrade final. Seeing Sky Blues at Wembley for the first time was a dream come true.

3. Last game at Highfield Road. The most confidence I’ve ever felt in my team. 4-0 at half-time. When Derby scores their first, I just thought to myself “don’t matter, we’ll score again in a sec.” Unreal.

4. Man U away 2007. Went there with nothing more than a fool’s hope of getting a result. Brilliant night.

David Spencer: FA CUP 87 Wembley and league 1 winners (HOPEFULLY) 2020.
