Academy Springs Park now a home to community ducks

COVINGTON, Ga. - Two ducks, a white one and a multicolored one, can be seen paddling along the dark-colored pond at Academy Springs Park, located on the corner of Conyers Street and Legion Drive in Covington. 

The ducks, who seem people friendly, can be watched from three places: the bridge, one of the two benches provided by the park or from the shoreline of the pond.

As tempting as it may be, Covington residents should not feed the ducks.

“Human food is not healthy for wild animals, and they do not need food from humans to survive,” according to the United States Department of Agriculture website. “Wild animals have specialized diets, and they can become malnourished or die if fed the wrong foods.
